When Silence & Stillness Call to You... Listen

I don’t know if this is normal or what, but I have always craved things like silence, quiet, and aloneness. I didn’t grow up Catholic, but for a while, I wanted to be a nun. When I heard about hermits, I thought that sounded like a dreamy career path. And I know this is really naive, but for a time, I even thought the idea of solitary confinement sounded nice. (Wow.)

Now this may be kind of extreme… after all, I am very much an introvert… but I think that many of us (introvert or not) do feel a pull toward stillness and silence. We’re interested more and more in meditation and yoga, perhaps we go on silent retreats, or camping in the woods…

There is a wish to offer some balance to our everyday experience of emails, meetings, entertainment, and so on. So what I am offering here is an invitation to see silence and stillness as a gift that you can offer yourself. Even in small tidbits, offer yourself a little more quiet, and wee what happens…

In this video, I discuss this paradox and offer a taste of silence. Join me for 5 minutes of quiet. :)

How was that? If you’d like more…
