Online Therapy in California

Eco-Therapy in Monterey

with Katie Dutcher, AMFT

Katie Dutcher offers trauma-informed therapy for adults, teens, and couples in Monterey and throughout California. Grounded in mindfulness and the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, therapy sessions—offered online and through eco-therapy—support healing and self-discovery.

My approach is warm, intuitive, and collaborative—rooted in presence, curiosity, and respect for your unique process.

From our first sessions together, my intention is to help you feel safe and seen. I believe that each one of us is the expert in our own experience, and my aim is to “get” you—to understand as much as I can about what you’re experiencing and feeling, and for you to feel my understanding and compassion. This connection is the foundation of a therapeutic relationship that supports you in being vulnerable and authentic, which in turn is the basis for growth.

I seek to offer a warm and supportive space while helping you explore the deeper patterns and past experiences that may be shaping your present. With mindfulness and body awareness woven throughout our work, I’ll support you in reconnecting with yourself in ways that feel more at ease, whole, grounded, and alive.

About Katie

I'm a Registered Associate Marriage and Family Therapist working under the supervision of a licensed clinician, utilizing Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and humanistic, psychodynamic, and somatic approaches.

In addition to my training as a therapist, I am a Qualified Teacher of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, a Certified Mindful Outdoor Guide, and am in training as a qigong teacher. I bring a background in mindfulness, nature connection, and trauma-informed care to our work together, and am experienced in teaching practices that support nervous system regulation and self-compassion.

To this work, I bring curiosity, openness, presence, sensitivity, empathy, and a wish to be of service. I also bring my self and my history, which includes grief, career transitions, and experience in working with my own patterns of anxiety, people-pleasing, and self-judgement. In other words, I continue to work with some of the same things you do, and I hope to normalize emotions and thoughts that can feel isolating. In my own life, one of my main desires is to see clearly in service of growth, even when growth feels painful or frightening.
