In planning mode for the Forest Retreat. I’m visiting our special retreat site and getting reacquainted. After a short time here, I feel at ease... disconnected from “town”, connected to HERE and to me. 🌳
I am so excited to offer this retreat— the practices of nature meditation and movement, of opening the senses... and at the same time I know that as much as I plan and imagine, the teaching of this retreat is equally held by the forest and land itself, and by each person who joins me here. 🌲
If you are craving Vitamin Nature, if you want a re-set and a change of perspective, if you want to open a clearing of silence and going slow... come and be here!

I walked into @montereysportscenter this morning and was treated by my smiling face! 😁 Put these on your calendar and come on over to the sports center to sign up! Each is a delicious combo of gentle, intentional movement and nourishing meditation. See you there!
This tree thinks she’s all that, and she is
Meditation isn't about achieving a perfect "blank slate" mind, a state of perpetual calm... no matter how attractive that might sound. In meditation, we are opening— opening to the curiosity of "What is happening now?" "What is unfolding in this moment?" In this meditation, come take a seat in the river of this moment and have a look at what is floating through. https://buff.ly/2ZSZwTb⠀

Can we have Saturday again please? Rivers are my new favorite.
Wow! I get to lead a super special Forest Retreat this morning for a group of best friends from Arizona. This misty quiet forest feels serene... mysterious and somehow welcoming.
This is my dad, and today is 5 years since his last breath. I can’t easily remember exact things he said or lessons he taught me with words, but I can so clearly recall and feel his presence— calming, steady, with a hint of humor ready... accepting, both of me, always, and of what was happening to him.
I wish I had the chance to know him more, to hear what he would’ve said to me now, to take it in better. I long for this. And I know that whatever it is that would be at the heart of what he’d say, is already living in my heart.
just work with what you have
be quick to smile, warm-hearted
be open with your frailties
let your actions be at peace with your heart: match it up, tell the truth.
I’m thankful for you, dad, and I miss you. May we who knew you offer your light, your gifts to each other. May we keep your love alive by spreading it around.
Morning at Palo Corona Regional Park, 2 nature meditations today. I’m enjoying imagining all the sweet people in their cars, almost here, excited to practice and enjoy together.
And let’s not forget last night, with more friends and nature medicine! I’m going for a three-peat.
